Suppose people that you have never met or heard of, in places you've never been to, by the hundreds or thousands or millions around the world, were actively promoting your products or your service without compensation, again, and again, and again. It sounds like a marketers dream, but it's simply viral marketing at work.

The Viral Marketing strategy is the process of providing your own free content be it product or service along with your ad copy, link, email, or other contact information. The recipients of your free product are allowed and actually encouraged to share it with their own visitors, prospects and clients at no charge. This is a fast way to increase your marketing at minimal costs or extra effort on your part.

Below are some frequently used viral strategies:

Ebooks - Provide your website guests with a no cost Ebook. Inform takers to share copies of the Ebook with their guests and other contacts.

Web Host - Provide hosting services to web sites on your server at no charge. Instead of a fee, place your banner on their website for viral marketing. Simply set up a folder for each website, they can have their domain name directed that folder.

Software - Provide guest with a lite version or limited time full version of your software as a gift. Remember to include Ad copy for your most popular products or services. Inform takers to share the software on their sites and with other contacts. There are numerous vendors online to assist with software development if needed.

Articles - Write articles about your field and related fields. Place your contact information including website in the resource/signature box. Be sure to provide permission for others to republish your articles as long as the articles content and resource info remains unchanged. These articles can be placed in newsletters, blogs, and websites.

4. Templates - Develop your own website or other templates, include your marketing material in them and provide as a free download or an electronic package. Grant approval and encourage recipients to pass them on.

6. Discussion Board - Install a Discussion Board on your website, include your banner ad at the top of the site. Encourage others to link to it and use it promote their own sites
