Optimizing Your Website

By far the majority of websites are there with a purpose - to sell a product or a service. Many website owners believe that a wonderfully designed website will draw searchers to it by reason of its design, but nothing could be further from the truth. I have a couple of friends who are two of South Africa's award winning designers, and they designed a website for themselves that, design wise, was faultless. But they got no visitors to their site other than those who found out the web address from a business card or letterhead. Why? The answer is simple. They used few keywords, the whole site was based on faultless graphics and Flash. The result being that there was nothing there for a search engine to look at or index. Search Engine Optimisation and the copy writing that goes with it is essential for any website.

Search engines need to look at content, and they need to see content that is relevant to the meta keywords used in the head of the site's source code. That is one of the reasons why a copy writer is an essential part of the team putting together a successful website. Copy writing for websites is a profession based on experience - experience that is gained from knowing how search engines work and what they look for. For example, if you fill a website article such as this one with a particular keyword or keyword phrase, it will be ignored by search engines, because their algorithms recognize its overuse.

Profitable Article Marketing - Announcing 5 High Powered Secrets to Explode Your Article Marketing

Article marketing isn't just about writing and distributing your articles online. If you would like to succeed in this technique, you must produce quality contents that are useful and relevant to your target niche. It is only through this that your articles will be picked up and republished by other webmasters and publishers.

1. Be productive. Article marketing will require you to write numerous articles for as long as you are running your online business. As such, you must be willing to produce quality articles on a regular basis to continuously improve the number of your links.

2. Sign up with article submission sites that have quick review and posting time. Don't waste your time with publishing sites that takes 3-4 weeks to publish your articles. By that time, your content is no longer timely. Stick with the ones that can post your articles within 24-72 hours just like ezinearticles dot com.

3. Your articles must be easy on the eyes. Lengthy, paragraph form articles that have little or no page break at all can easily turn your readers off. Make your articles readable by breaking your articles into short paragraphs and using bullet points whenever appropriate.

4. After you have submitted your articles, check to see if they are posted online after the review period has lapsed. Sometime, articles are not posted due to broken links, inappropriate content, keyword stuffing, and blatant advertisements. In these cases, you will be asked to re-write your articles so they will conform to the standards set by the publishing sites.

5. Track your progress. Make it a habit to check the click through rate of your articles online and your website traffic to see if there is a noticeable improvement on your numbers. You can use your findings in improving your article marketing techniques.

How To Protect Your Site From A Google PageRank Drop

For the uninitiated, Google ranks all pages on the web with a scale of PR0 to PR10 -- higher is better. High PR sites or pages receive most of the traffic for competitive keywords or phrases. Keywords are what surfers type into search engines to find what they're looking for on the web.

Ranking high in Google for popular keywords can prove very lucrative. It can make the difference whether your website is in the black and producing hourly profits, or a total worthless waste of pixel space. Having a high Google PR is equivalent to having money in the bank. It is that important.

For Google is still the undisputed king of traffic, regardless of what's on the horizon, Google is the major deliver of the web's traffic. That's why losing your high Google PR ranking, sometimes overnight, can be so devastating for the struggling webmaster or marketer.

Read this article to discover how you as a webmaster can protect yourself from lost profits and traffic, even if Google pulls the plug on your site or PR, while putting another one of their endless algorithms into place.

10 Ways to Outsmart Google's PageRank System

Here's a list of things you can do to lessen the impact of a sudden drop of the almighty Google PageRank:

* Diversify your traffic, make sure you cultivate other sources of traffic other than the search engines. Form partnerships and strategic links with other webmasters. Interact in forums and online communities.

* Provide quality information and free products or services that get 'good word of mouth' recommendations from your visitors. Content will always be king -- make sure it reigns supreme on your site.

* Pick the right domain name. If you can, choose a short catchy keyword for your domain, one people will remember and would naturally type into a search engine or browser to find what they're looking for on the web. For example: www.hotels.com.

* If you're having success with your site,(or/and especially if you're not) venture into off-line advertising and promotion. Use traditional promotional products, t-shirts, caps, bumper stickers, etc. to promote your URL. You can also try PPC (Pay Per Click) advertising to provide you with targeted traffic and sidestep the search engines. Well sort of!

* Try viral products like ebooks, reports and free software programs to get your links out into the marketplace. You can also try product or site testimonials which are another great source of targeted traffic.

* Be extremely careful of any out-going links from your site. Don't link to bad neighborhoods (link farms, banned sites, etc.) Google will penalize you for bad links so always check the PageRank of the sites you're linking to from your site. If you don't have the Google Bar, you can check any site's PageRank here: www.iwebtool.com.

* Onsite SEO factors does have an influence on rankings -- make sure your site is dressed to kill. Pay attention to keyword density, title descriptions, meta tags, alt tags and interior linking structure. If you can, optimize your site for all three major search engines: MSN, Yahoo and Google. But don't stop there, also submit your site to the countless other smaller search engines on the web. It's the old adage, don't put all your eggs into the ever-changing Google basket or you're probably turn your site and yourself into one desperate basket case. Other search engines listed here: http://www.isedn.org.

* Along those same lines, have a large spread of keyword phrases that you're targeting with the content on your site. Don't go after extremely competitive keywords which have countless major players with deep pockets buying links, left right and center. Instead, pick a whole range of keyword phrases that have less or little competition. All these keyword phrases will add up to a flood of traffic for your site. Phrases that for the most part won't be affected by a sudden drop in PageRank. One good site for finding these keywords is www.nichebot.com, it will give both the number of hits and the amount of competition for each keyword.

* There is one more strategy you must explore if you want to lessen the power and importance of your own site's PR. One strategy that will bring in tons of Google traffic even if your PR is ZERO. You must utilize the PageRank of other sites on the web. Use off-page optimization for your major keywords. Build countless anchor text links through keyword rich articles, content related blogs and products that benefit from the high PR of other sites on the web.

* Keyword rich articles are some of the best examples of this method, placing them on high PR sites will filter Google traffic through these articles onto your site. It will also warm up these visitors before they reach your site and they will be more receptive to any of your site's offering; never underestimate the power of the Pre-sell. Build enough of these links and a sudden drop in your own Google PR ranking won't drastically affect your bottom line or the amount of quality traffic you are receiving.

What's even more satisfying, if you build these links, partnerships, and off-site optimization -- your Google PageRank will probably go up. If it doesn't, who cares, for you will have Google-Proofed your site against any sudden drop in your site's PR rankings and broadened the reach of your site by using the high PR of other sites on the Web. In the process, you will have protected your site and yourself from the big bad Google PR wolf.

You don't have to conquer Google, you just have to outsmart it!

Search Engine Optimization, Step Two: Create (or Refine) Your Meta Description

A Meta Description's overall purpose is to provide a brief explanation of a site and most importantly, to name the major items being sold. It can help rankings in search engines in providing more relevance to a site by giving spiders an accurate summary of its place on the net. As the words imply, a Meta Title names a site while a Meta Description describes the page to search engines and directories. In general, the Description can be considered a lengthened extension of the Title.

Writing Your Meta Description
When forming your Description, use common sense, logic and a touch of creative writing. If you haven't done so already, create your Meta Title first. Once you have the keywords and text used there, you can use that information to help in writing your Description.

The text amount should not surpass 150 words. It is meant to be a short rundown of your site, so keep it concise and to the point.

Most importantly- include major keywords in your description. There is more room in the Description tag, so include more keywords. Make certain they are specific, relevant and pertinent to the major items you sale. Always place your top keywords first within the text.

Avoid spam. Repeating keywords (more than 5 times) in your Meta Description may be viewed negatively by search engine spiders.

The Description is used as the summary in some search engine listings. So while keeping the text as relevant as possible, also make it inviting to potential customers. If a search engine uses a Meta Description and you don't have one, it will pull random text from your page. This can confuse visitors and may result in a lost visit to your site. Make sure you have Descriptions that educate, rather than confuse.

Include Meta Descriptions in all areas of your site. It is important for a site's homepage, as well as each Product and Category page. For these specific pages, try to keep the Description at about 50 words, roughly 2-3 sentences long.

Once you are finished writing, check your text from an outside perspective. Make sure it describes your site's overall purpose, products and entices you to go inside.

Advanced Linking Strategies Revealed That Will Explode Your Search Engine Traffic

Linking on the internet for any website is of primary importance. The main reason for this is that search engines value the importance of search engine rankings by the amount of websites that link to your website.

If you have very few websites linking to you then you probably will not have very good search engine rankings. In this article I would like to go through some things that you can do to improve your search engine rankings. The most important part is that you need to build a high quality website. If other webmasters see it they will want to link to it because you have very useful content on the site.

You can start off by submitting to quality directories like Yahoo and Open Directory. Google has admitted that links from these will improve your ranking as these are trusted websites. After this you can submit to other second tier directories like Gimpsy.

Post frequently to forums including a link to your website with your signature. Write articles and submit them to the major article directories including a link to your site in your resource box. These will become viral in nature as other publishers publish your articles increasing your link popularity.

Finally, you can use link baiting to take advantage of web 2 traffic. This could be writing controversial articles with a killer headline and submitting it to story sites like Digg. If it generates enough interest it may just make it to front page generating lots of traffic and links to your website.

Article Marketing - Next Level of Article Marketing

Article marketing is a technique thats been used over the internet for the past few years. Its a very simple technique where you simply write articles to promote your website and submit it to article directories. This is very easy to do, and can gain a huge amount of exposure for whatever it is your promoting.

Then Bum Marketing came along. Its basically article marketing with a punch. You basically optimize the articles that youre writing for a certain long tail keyword. So if you were writing an article about weight loss for example, you might optimize your page the phrase how to lose weight quickly, using the phrase as the title and a few throughout the article.

This would enable you to get your article listed in the search engines as theres a lot less competition for the keyword how to lose weight quickly than there is for weight loss. Used in the right way this can be a very powerful technique.

Today, Bum and Article marketing has become a very popular way to promote products. Affiliates can set up a small page pre-selling the product their promoting, then write articles based around the niche using the bum marketing method. At the end of the article the affiliate can put a small Authors bio that would point to there pre-sales page.

This method has recently been upgraded again. New techniques have pushed Bum marketing methods into overdrive, making it a very easy way to make cash online.

Website Traffic - Why Article Marketing Blows Away Pay-Per-Click Marketing

It's always great to compare traffic generation strategies because you can tell which strategy is giving you results and which isn't. Or maybe both strategies may be giving you results but you want to know which is more effective in generating qualified prospects.

Two of the most popular traffic generation methods online today are article marketing and pay-per-click marketing. This article won't talk about what both methods are (there are already tons of articles on that) but will compare the two to see which strategy you should invest your efforts in.

Personally, for me, article marketing blows pay-per-click marketing out of the water. Pay-per-click marketing consists of Google's Adwords and Yahoo's Search Marketing, so that's no small statement I'm making. Well, there's a reason why I say article marketing is more effective.

Let's say that you spend $10 a day on Adwords. That's $300 a month. Now take that $300 and spend it on 100 articles written by a freelancer. Those 100 articles will bring you traffic for a long time, whereas your Adwords traffic was a temporary thing. And prospects generated from articles are way more responsive!

You'll often people willing to spend crazy amounts for cost per click on Adwords, but you won't find that many 'insane' competitors in article marketing. Although the competition has grown massively in recent years, it is still nothing compared to pay-per-click marketing.

And that's why I say article marketing trumps over Adwords, Yahoo Search Marketing, or any other pay-per-click network. If you don't want to write, outsource your articles. You'll see some terrific results from this marketing strategy if you do it right.

The Logic Behind Website Optimization

Website optimization is the term for the process of devising and crafting your web pages to ensure that they have a high ranking in popular search engine results. If a business entity is serious and is determined to have an online business presence, then optimizing their web page is of utmost importance.

These components play a large part in fully optimizing your site. Although many search engines these days no longer make use of Meta in gaining higher rankings, these however, are still vital and should be included enhancing your site.

Why It's Important To Optimize A Website

The answer to the question above is quite simple: if your potential customers and target niche cannot locate you online, then they will most certainly find your competition, and when they go to your competitors, your business most likely will fail.

As a matter of fact, over 85% of online shoppers and buyers use search engine results to find the stuff they are looking for on the web. If your page then is not ranked in the top 10 or 20 of the search results; it would be tough for your online business to succeed, since no one will find you, and they cannot buy from you as well.

Factors That Help Optimize Websites

- Put In Appropriate Keywords and Phrases. First and foremost, you need to select keywords and phrases that best suit and properly refer to what your site is all about. - Text. Because your text plays a major role in influencing your website's page ranking, it is of vital significance to optimizing your site. Take note that when drafting or composing your text for your site, it should contain the proper number of vital key words and phrases, which are used in different ways. Keep in mind that your keywords and phrases should appear at least three times, but not more than seven times in your texts.

- Meta Tags Help Describe Your Site. Meta tags are HTML codes that are found between the < HEAD> and < /HEAD> tags. These tags contain a description of your site and are found in the search engine results when you key in a certain word or phrase. Ensure that your Meta tags include your most important keywords, so that your customers will know exactly what your website is offering.

- Title Tags. The title tag of your site must always contain the most important keyword phrase of your site, since this will aid you in getting higher search engine ranking results. Type your key word phrase in lower and use only the most relevant keyword phrases.

If You Want To Be A Succesful Writer - Practice

Whenever I look at the best seller book list, I am hit right away by both envy and admiration. I have always wanted to write a best selling book but, like many writers, I have not been able to get a publisher to so much as look at my manuscript. It would be easier to bare if the best selling books were all well-written, intelligent works. They are not. As a matter of fact, one look at the list of best sellers will show you that at least half of them are complete trash. There are second rate thrillers and self-help books written by con-artists who have never helped anyone. There are poorly written exposes and sequels of sequels, capitalizing off of the popularity of a series long after the writer has run out of ideas. In short, my bitterness is not without justification.

In desperation, I decided that the only thing I could do was to start reading best selling books myself. By reading the best sellers, I figured that I would be able to divine that secret ingredient that my books were missing. I would figure out why all of these hacks could get published when I could not. Nonetheless, after joining the book of the month club, downloading digital books to read at work, and perusing every kind of genre fiction known to man, I was stumped. It seemed like there was no key to publishing your own book. Some of them succeeded because they were good and others succeeded despite the fact that they were awful. I could not, for the life of me, figure out what these best selling books all had in common.

Finally, I decided that the only thing to do was to give it all up and focus on writing. I stopped worrying about writing best seller fiction and focused instead on writing my fiction. To my surprise, my writing got better and better. Once I stopped worrying about what other people would think about the stuff that I was writing, it got much easier to write it. I do not know whether I will be the proud author of one of the best selling books one day, but I do know that I am writing some of the best stuff of my life. I have a lot of faith that, if I just keep working at it, I will make it eventually.

My Article Marketing Process, From Beginning to End I

This article is designed to tell you exactly how I do my article marketing, just the way I do it everyday.

I identify a niche. That's kind of a basic level--I did that nine months ago. I know what my niches are so I write around those niches.

The second thing that I'll do is write out my twenty article titles for the day so that I don't have to keep getting creative. I'll do this all in Word, so that I can add to it. I will write out twenty different things that I want to write about today.

So for example, I will type in: "Article-writing, Article-marketing, List-building, Email-marketing, Niche-building, Internet-coaching." I will come up with twenty different things. That's my first step in my creative process. Then I'll go back in and I'll ask myself a question--I'll either ask about something.

For example, Article-writing. I know that I've written a couple of articles about Duplicate-content. I'll go ahead and write the title out: "Article-writing, How to avoid the duplicate-content penalty in Article Marketing." I'll go through and write a title for every single one of them. Then I'll go back in and start writing each article.

Sometimes, you'll run out of ideas. You'll get to two-hundred words and you'll just stop. Go to the next article. Write on that one. When you're finished writing that one, go back and finish the article that you've just done. I do it almost like an assembly-line system. It's almost like an assembly-line. When I'm writing these articles, a lot of times I will close all other windows--all other browser windows, on my computer. I won't answer any emails.

I won't answer the telephone if it rings. I'm just very, very, very focused on writing those articles. So the number two step is to write the articles.

Brutally Effective Article Marketing Secrets That That Will Rapidly Explode Your Business

Knowing how to utilize your article marketing efforts is a very important strategy for your business. In this article I would like to go over the methods that you can use to maximize your efforts from article marketing.

It is very important to understand how you generate traffic to your website. First of all there are only about 5 directories which generate massive traffic to your website. The rest are mainly useful for backlinks to increase your search engine rankings.

There are basically two types of traffic that you will get. You will get the immediate traffic when people search on your website and also the traffic from search engines.

Now this is very important as you need to maintain the balance between the two. For the long term search engine traffic you need to find high traffic keywords with very little competition. Include this in your title and basically submit to the top directories. These have very good page rank and will ensure that you get good rankings in the search engine. However, since these directories are updated with fresh new content daily it is very important to continually submit articles as you will find that some of your older articles may start losing their rankings.

SEO - 4 Best SEO Tips To Get To The Top On Google

If you are a website owner, you will definitely want to get your website rank well in Google organic listings for keywords phrases that are most relevant to what you are offering. Getting your site to the first page of Google is not an impossible dream, as long as you choose the right keywords for your optimization plan.

Do not make the mistake of trying to optimize one-word phrase such as "flowers" or "golf". There are 2 reasons why you should not do this. First, it is almost impossible for a new site to get into the first page of Google for these types of keyword phrases, as it is way too competitive.

Secondly, a good search engine optimization plan is to optimize keyword phrases that are more targeted. For example, "golf" is too general and the traffic that comes to your website may not be very eager to buy golf equipments from you. They may just be interested to find out more about golf. On the other hand, if you optimize keyword phrases like "discount golf clubs" or "used golf clubs", you stand a higher chance to convert your website visitors to customers.

Now let me share with you 4 best SEO tips to get to the top on Google:

1. Choose the right keywords. Again is back to what I have shared with you above. Choosing the right keywords for your optimization plan will determine whether you succeed in getting to the top on Google. Choose keyword wisely and make sure that they keywords you choose have substantial search volume to justify your effort.

2. Good onsite optimization. A good onsite optimization is the basic of all successful SEO case studies. You need to place keywords in areas such as the title tag, meta tags, header tags, alt tags and content. By getting a keyword targeted domain name such as mygolfclubs.com, you will score extra point with Google.

3. Good original content. Google dislikes non-original content and penalize duplicate content. If the content of your website is not original, no matter how much optimization you do to it, it will not rank high. It is definitely worth your effort to spend time developing quality and original content. Update your site with fresh content frequently and you will score another big point with Google.

4. Intensive linking campaign. Google takes into account the number of links pointing back to your website. With more links pointing back to your site, it shows that your site is important and popular. However, links pointing back to your website need to be relevant to what your site is providing. Relevancy plays a very important role if you want to achieve successful optimization. You can get links pointing back to your site by submitting your website to directories, and writing articles and distribute them to the various article directories online.

With good organic ranking on Google, you can be sure to see a surge of traffic to your website and hence more exposure of your business.

How To Write Good Articles To Bring More Traffic To Your Website

Many people dont realize the importance or the power of article writing in generating high targeted traffic volume to your website. It is also a good way to inform people of home business ideas and opportunities, marketing tips or strategies as you provide new content to your own website. If you do this consistently you not only become an expert author in the article directories you submit to, people look up to you with authority in your own niche market. There is only one way to translate all this to a very successful home based business for you, even working as part time work.

You can make residual income from writing articles in a number of ways. You can post the articles on your own website. This can be done by creating an article directory or simply create a link in your website pointing to your articles in html page. Another way of course is to write and publish these articles in other peoples websites.

Writing an article for the purpose of increasing web traffic is a lot different than say writing for a newspaper column. One important factor which determines your success is your keyword optimization. You will need to spend some time to identify what keywords are being searched on the search engines. Target these keywords and sprinkle them throughout the article body and title. Your article will come out high on the search engines.

By doing this you will have a high chance of having your article and your website seen. If it is your article that comes up high on the search engines, you have passed the first test. With the ability to place a resource box in your article, people have the opportunity to be directed to your website. This way people can read what you have to say, and at the same time visit your website, which is your ultimate goal.

At the bottom of the article you can place a short description for your website. You first introduce yourself and your website, or add a couple of sentences on what the readers can expect to find at your website. At the very end of the resource box you want to place a link to your website so they can be directed to your homepage.

Im sure by now you would realize the effect article writing has on your home based business and how it is generating a higher traffic volume for your website. The more people you can get to your website, the better chance you have of promoting and selling your products from your affiliate programs, or selling your own products.

If you are using an article directory to publish your articles, one important thing to remember is to read its editorial guidelines. Follow these guidelines well and be careful here if you want to ensure your articles get published. Some websites are pretty strict about the minimum number of words used, while others forbid the use of html among other things. Others are even particular about how you select your author name and may suspend your account if this is not followed.

Article writing is a quick and enjoyable way to make online income in your home based business There are many successful marketers who use this to manage their link popularity too. There are many work at home ideas that you can use, but article writing is by far the simplest and one of the best methods.

Article Marketing-Importance of Specific Web Page Linking

Article marketing is one of the easiest ways to create targeted traffic to your web site, and of course one of the ways to do this is through the process of creating backlinks from your article to your web site.

Once you have written your article (and by the way, make sure that you have thoroughly spell checked your article and made sure that it is not ungrammatical ask a member of your family or a friend to read it over for you), then make sure that there is some way for your reader to access your website for more information.

The easiest way to allow the reader to access your web site directly from your article is to include a backlink (or 2 or 3) to your web site or web pages therein. You can either create a bio; this will generally be permitted by the article directories in the form of the authors resource box; and in the bio include a backlink to your main page. This is a box which is added to your article and in which you can say a bit about yourself and provide a link to any page in your website that you want.

Another thing I like to do, when the article directory permits it, is to include specific web pages in my text anchor backlinks, rather than my index or main page.

This is what is so good about article marketing. You can advertise a specific page within your website. If readers like the article and wants to copy it to their own website, they may do so as long as they include your resource box. What this does is to provide you with a link to your web page back from theirs, without you having to provide a reciprocal link.

Article Marketing 101 The Whole Thing in a Nutshell

Article Marketing is one of the best ways to bring much needed traffic to a website and we all know that more traffic equals more profit. Perhaps the biggest benefit of article marketing is that the traffic that it generates is highly targeted and highly qualified.

While this type of marketing is hands down one of the top marketing methods I have found that many people I talk to are either unfamiliar with article marketing or are intimidated by it. Read on and I will give you the entire basic strategy in a Nutshell.

Those truly new to article marketing may be wondering why anyone would want their article in the first place. The answer to this is content, content, content. Websites and other publications are constantly on a search for fresh, new content. The only way to keep readers returning is to consistently rotate the content. Article banks and directories fill this need. Webmasters and publishers use the articles as new content.

Article Marketing 101

1.) The first thing that you need to do is begin writing articles related to your business or niche. The article itself is not a sales pitch and should not be written as so. In many cases the article directories my reject an article that is. What you need to do is write 300 450 words which are informative and about your niche.

2.) Decide which of the article banks and directories that you wish to use when submitting your articles. Personally I only use a few and all of them require registration. In my opinion using only registration required directories shows more professionalism. Be sure that you read and abide by the editorial guidelines of the directories. Doing so will save you headaches later.

Take the time to make sure that you are placing your articles in the proper categories. You want targeted traffic to your website. Placing your articles in the correct categories will ensure that any traffic that filters back to your website is highly targeted to the niche that you are working.

3.) The final part of the article is the resource box. It is in this section that you want to lead readers back to your website. Always include your name, a real link (www.yoursite.com) back to your website, and 3- 4 sentences about yourself and/or your product. Give the reader a reason to want to visit your website

In conclusion please keep in mind that not every article you submit will be published, especially if you do not follow the editorial guidelines. Keep writing and submitting new articles daily. The more articles you get out on the article directories the better. Also keep in mind that article marketing is not an overnight thing. It takes time as do all businesses worth pursuing.

Best Article Marketing - 7 Key Steps to Make More Money With Article Marketing

Article marketing offers webmasters numerous benefits: Quality backlinks to their blogs or website, increased traffic, and cost-effective marketing technique that is proven to work. If you want these benefits and more, follow this 7 steps to successful article marketing:

a. Avoid blatant advertising. Refrain from writing articles with the sole purpose of promoting your website and products. Instead offer your readers quality content that is useful, timely, relevant, and interesting.

b. Check your articles for broken links. Usually, articles with broken links are rejected by article submission sites. Thus, it is helpful if you can use the preview feature of each directory to make sure that all links are working before you click that submit button.

c. Bank on your content. Make your articles engaging and interesting. Also, use the articles to show your expertise on your field. This is the fastest way to gain your potential client's trust.

d. Make use of anchor texts. Hyperlink your targeted keywords so it will be easier for your readers to go to your site in just one click on their mouse.

e. Make short articles. Based on studies, short articles are preferred by most online users. Increase the chances of your articles being read by making them as short as possible. 250-500 word article is ideal for most article submission sites.

f. Create intriguing, interesting titles. Titles act as baits to get online users to read your articles, so take advantage of it. Make sure that your titles will capture the interest of your potential clients by establishing the benefits they can get from reading your articles.

g. Sprinkle keywords on your articles. To get your articles indexed by search engines, use keywords that are usually being used by your potential clients when they use search engines. Use these keywords on your title, on the body of your articles, on your anchor text, and on your resource box.

Article Marketing Success - What I Have Learned from a Million Page Views

Here I want to share with you, what I have learned after generating over a million hits to my articles and how anyone can get great targeted traffic and enjoy article marketing success...

Quality

If you are writing an article you need to have quality material that's interesting and informative. There are a lot of people who will write you an article for $5 - 10 and there of no use to you, as the reader will soon see the material is poor and never click through. Ideally, write the article yourself and if you want to use a professional writer, then make sure their experienced in your field of expertise.

2 x Versions

Create two versions of the same article, this won't take you much longer than doing one. You simply keep the same topic and edit a second article form the first and change the headline. I can write an article in about 30 - 45 minutes and edit the same one in about 15, so 2 x articles should take you no more than an hour to write.

The first article is the one you want the search engines to pick up and rate and choose the best article directory for the field that you are writing in. Different directories rate higher or lower on different subjects and don't always assume the bigger the directory the higher it rates. Submit the article and then point links at. The more high quality links you have pointing at the article the better, so bookmark it and blog it.

The second article can be used to get traffic from the rest of the directories.

Submissions

When doing directory submissions forget about quantity, again go for quality.

You can submit to hundreds of directories - but it's simply not worth the time and effort, for the results you get back.

There are thousand of directories but only around 100 are worth bothering with.

I have spent considerable time building lists that only consist of about 30 directories - but I know they will pull significant traffic on my theme. For example, I have one directory with an Alexa ranking outside the top 100,000 yet it will give me as many hits, as directories in the top 5,000 on several subjects!

It's very much a question of trial and error, simply submit to a directory and see how it performs on your subject.

Headline

You Headline needs to be keyword rich at the start and punchy, to grab your readers attention. A long headline is better than a shorter one; it gives the search engine spider something to bite on and gives enough words for you to entice readers.

Format

The longer an article is (and I often see articles of 1,000 words or more) the more chance the reader will be distracted, get bored and click way. The ideal length is around 550 words and no more than 750.

Keep your teaser text short and to the point. All it needs to do is to tell them why they should read your article - you don't need any of the article content in it.

When you write the article do NOT use long paragraphs - people find this intimidating and will click away. Keep paragraphs to six sentences or less and break up the article, with eye catching sub heads and bullet points.

You must make your article easy to read, as they have to get to the resource box!

When you come to the concluding paragraph, start to pre close them to your site. For example, you can tell them of other articles you have written on related subjects and they will assume they are on your site and click through.

Resource Box

Make sure you have a headline which has a benefit to the reader and use the text to tell them exactly what they are going to get at your site.

Article readers want information, so free Pdf's are always good. Your resource box is your advert, so use it wisely. Stress the benefits of what you do and always have a high perceived free offer they can take advantage of.

Click Through Rates

Many article directories tell you how many people have clicked through to your site from your article and as a general rule, you should be getting at least 10% and preferably a 20% click through.

Article marketing is one of the most effective ways of getting targeted traffic and I hope the enclosed tips help you achieve article marketing success.

Article Marketing - Latest 3 Persuasive Steps to Excel At Article Marketing

Article writers cannot be more in-demand these days. With millions of webmasters constantly seeking for articles that they can use in their article marketing campaigns, they can indeed keep millions of article writers busy for a while. With it's proven ability to generate traffic and communicate the webmaster's knowledge and abilities, article marketing is fast becoming the most sought-after traffic-generating tool.

Here are the latest 3 persuasive steps to excel in article marketing:

1. Determine the use of your articles. Article marketing isn't just about submitting your articles to publishing sites. It also pertains to the distribution of your written materials in the internet using other different avenues. Thus, in writing your articles, you have to determine its usage. Are you going post them on publishing sites, on your blogs, on your website or perhaps you'll send them through e-mail marketing. In doing so, you can effectively plan the elements that you will incorporate and other add-ons that you will strike out. You would not want to use your articles with resource box on your own website, do you?

2. Be specific. Explain your ideas by giving concrete examples and specific information. For instance, if you would like to teach your readers on how to make money online, cite specific methods like blogging, article writing, and affiliate marketing, instead of telling them to google search certain terms to get the information they want. If you already have the information, why not just give it upfront? It will not only help your readers but it can also be your effective way of getting your potential audience's trust.

3. Be original. Don't be just another writer. Be different by exhibiting a new level of creativeness in your articles. Develop unique methods that can easily be associated with you so you can make a huge mark online.
