Just what are the Benefits of Submitting Articles to E-Zines

E-zine advertising is perhaps one of the most underused forms of promotion. It is a good idea to do your homework, before launching your viral marketing campaign. Article writing and publishing has become the latest buzz in the internet website marketing world. The name of the game as far as Internet marketing

Gorilla SEO | Search Engine Survival Skills

Everyone with a web site wants to be in the #1 spot of the major search engines. With the constant changing of the search criteria, how can you avoid getting eaten by the competition?

The answer is to spread out your SEO efforts, or employ what I like to call Gorilla SEO. There are 4 basic steps I try to keep in mind whenever I am promoting my web sites

Step 1, Work with the search engines, I don't mean load up your pages with redundant keywords until no one can make heads or tails out of it. I mean find the keywords that are similar to the main word but slightly different. If "vitamin" is your key word, try words like nutrition, or supplements to build on. When you Google "vitamin" there are over 95,000,000 results, that is a lot of pages to beat out. On the other hand if you Google Supplements there are only 325,000 results. Much less crowded and much easier to get the search engines to notice you.

Step 2, work with the overall plan in mind for your site. When developing your traffic strategy, keep keyword optimization in mind. Do keyword research before you do anything else, then build your plan around the openings. This is gorilla SEO at its finest.

Step 3, Always keep your site fresh by adding content. This is easy if you have a Blog, but even if you have a traditional site, you can add content by adding pages or new products. Most web sites now have blogs for just this reason. The benefit is that it keeps the web crawlers coming back to update what you have done.

Step 4, develop a link building strategy. In order to increase the site ranking on the search engines you have to develop links to your site. There is any number of ways to do this. You can spend money buying links on popular sites, or you can employ one of my favorite gorilla SEO techniques. This is a little known way to build quality links to your web site, just leave relevant comments on public content. Articles (like this), blogs, forums are all excellent places to comment and build links to your site.

Set a goal for your self to comment at one article per day. It will get easier to do the more you do it and the links will start to add up.

Remember to keep your overall strategy in mind, narrow your focus, search for the back door keywords, and you will be a master of gorilla SEO, the predator, not the prey.

Many people try to be successful with article marketing. However some are not successful and never fathom out why. In this article I will share some insights that have helped me to be successful with article marketing.

Article marketing generates the highest quality lead that you can get online. People only buy from people that they like, know and trust. By writing articles you will generate yourself as an expert in your niche. If your article marketing leads do not purchase from your sales pages then you are unlikely to make sales from any other sources of leads.

You need to find a niche market that you can focus on to write your articles. This is crucial for your success. Write your articles in a casual style. This form of internet writing is different from normal writing.

Write your introduction and conclusion paragraphs first. Sometimes it is difficult to get going writing. I think that the main reason for this is that we are too conditioned to using our logical brain. So it may take some training to get used to using the creative part of your brain. Create bullet points for the body of the article. Expand on these bullet points and write the sentences that will form the body of the article.

You need to make your writing concise. The main reason for this is that you are writing articles to drive traffic to your website and build an opt in list to generate repeat customers.

If the readers like and identify with your style of writing then they will click on the link to your website in your bio. This will give you the chance of converting a lead into a paid customer.

Article Marketing on the Internet is a whole different story

Article Marketing on the Internet is a whole different story because of the way your articles reach humans who have an interest in them. Article Marketing will help you increase your link popularity, search engine positioning for your keywords and phrases, and it helps you reach more potential customers for your products or services.

Bum marketing is so called because even a bum can make money using this method. You need no outlay and can start with nothing. Absolutely zilch!

I had absolutely zilch because I had maxed out 7 credit cards. I used to laugh when I read about others doing that with just two, but I did it myself in spades! My only word to you would be very careful how you use PPC programs like Adwords because I wasnt. But thats another story.

I discovered bum marketing because if there is one thing I am good at, it is writing. Bum marketing involves finding a profitable niche, or one that could be profitable. It has to be something with a reasonable large following, and a reasonable number of topics attached to it. Like fly fishing or quilting, or something similar. Something that is followed by people you would expect to have money. You dont want people flinching at paying $97 for a product related to their hobby or interest.

You then have to find some decent keywords. For bum marketing it doesnt matter too much if there is competition for them, but not too general. Not quilting but perhaps hand quilting machines or deep throat quilters. Then get a website set up. You can get a cheap functional site for under $5 a month and then set up a website. A sales page for a product and a few pages with some content. If you can get it, register a domain name that is the same as, or relates to, one of the keywords you have chosen.

Write a few articles on the topic of your website, and use one for each of the web pages. Bum marketing is all about article writing. You should have one web page for each keyword you are using relating to your website. Find a few products to sell. If you have your own then great, but if not sell affiliate products.

Then write a few more articles and submit them to article directories. Each directory will allow you what is known as an Authors Resource Box in which you can say a little about yourself and provide a URL for people to click on for more information. The URL should lead to a page that relates to the topic of the article, and should ideally be a text link with the keyword or phrase that is the title of your web page. The text link should be hyperlinked to the page; what is termed an active link.

If the directory does not specifically provide a Resource Box, you can add that information after your article. It has to be included and will go with your article whenever it is copied and used. The article will not only bring you traffic, but also valuable links back to your web pages.

It is important that you continue to write and keep pumping out new articles. I like to write two every week and send them off to the top 25 directories. Thats all I have to do because most of the top 25 provide material to other directories, and before you know it your articles are all over the internet. Thats bum marketing.

As I said, even a bum with no money can do it. I know, because I was that bum at one time. I am no longer!

One of the services search engine marketing companies provide is Link Building. This is where the firm actively seeks out links by finding websites that are on a similar topic to yours and approaching them on your behalf to ask for links. However as the search engines have become more sophisticated they have been able to distinguish between sites providing good high quality relevant links and other less reliable websites. As a consequence its become increasingly important for search engine marketers & optimisation agencies to learn which links are most valuable.

One of the first things to bear in mind when asking a site for the link is if its relevant. The best way to tell if a search engine would see you link as appropriate is to think like the linking websites target audience. If a reader of the site you are approaching would find your web page useful then so will the search engines.

Its also important to see who else the potential link partner is linking to. A site with a few high quality links is a lot more valuable as a link resource than a site with links to some of the more grubby neighborhoods on the World Wide Web.

The older the site you are approaching to build links with the better. The more established a site is the more valuable its links are. A link from a site thats been around since the early days of the internet can really help a search engine optimization campaign and move a website up the rankings result page.

As well as the age of the link partner its worth looking at which Top Level Domain (TLD) the website is hosted with. .edu & .gov sites are best. Unless its a high quality well established reputable site .biz & .info pages are best avoided. The less desirable domain extensions are more prone to spam so their links offer less trust.

Its always best to try and find links from proper editorial pages rather than directories. While it may be more time consuming and require a personalized email its worth the effort. The search engines view a link from a content site as a better recommendation than a web directory that is full of links.

Another top tip is to avoid sites in foreign languages its easy for the search engine to see these as irrelevant links, so youre better not wasting your time perusing these links.

If you are trying to market and promote your site; a well organized link campaign as part of a varied search engine marketing strategy can provide real tangible results. You can quickly move up through the results of search engines like Yahoo! & Google and drive more traffic to your website.

The use of article marketing in the business arena is deemed very essential and significant. Article marketing is a tool that allows your business and the products attached with it to be promoted and advertised by channeling it thru the articles that you create. In order to make the whole article marketing process simple and easy, follow these steps:

1. Target your audience properly. You need to make sure that you know the profile of your targeted audience. It will also be a big help for you as the article maker to determine their needs and want in terms of information. This will help you get into the right target in terms of what to write for them. In addition, when you know who your targeted audience is, there is a lesser probability of you mistakenly addressing and highlighting some irrelevant issues.

2. Prepare the message to be delivered. With the numerous options where you can deliver the message, all you have to do is to potentially study and assess every option that you have. You can have your message published on every article sites or have it displayed on your own website. If in case that you are targeting a wider mass audience, you can have it displayed on all possible display sites like web logs, newsletter, Ezines, message and discussion boards. Besides, there is no rule on the net that prohibits a single article to be republished on all available publications.

3. Track your development and be able to proactively take counter measures. When the article has been delivered and distributed, you are not supposed to be sitting on your laurels. You have to help these distributing media sites attain your objective. Make sure that you know where the article is failing in attaining your objective and be willing to revise to attain your pre-set goals.

Many professional writers create dozens of articles every single day. The problem is that these articles are just a one time thing. There is a smart way to use leverage and maximize your profits with the same amount of work. This is called leverage. Let me show you how to do it step by step.

First, you need to take every single paragraph from your previous article separately. I mean that if you created an article with several paragraph, you should have seven articles.

Now that you have several articles ready to submit to the articles directory sites, you can create a short report that you will add as a bribe for people who land on your optin page.

You will request their name and email address in exchange for your report.

From one article, you got seven new articles, a free pdf report that build your list of subscribers for you.

But you can do even more than this. What about turning your ebook into an mp3 audio file?

Think about it because many people will not find the time to read your valuable ebook. However, if they can plug your audio into their ipod while they are to the gym, they will use your content.

Once you start getting subscribers into your autoresponder sequence, it's time to send them something that they can buy. If you provided good content, they will be happy to buy from you.

You already have your mp3 files now. All you need to do is to add more to your free pdf report and sell both.

You can even prepare an e-course from your articles and sell it for a one time fee or sell it on a recurring basis as a membership site. I mean that you give them the articles on a weekly or monthly basis for a recurring fee.

Plus you can also use your articles for more buzz in discussion boards. Just tweak them a little bit, and make new threads that get read hundreds or thousands of time.

You see, one article can be turned into a full money getting business.

Making Money with Your Blog!

A place for finding the Nuts and Bolts for Making Money Online with Affiliate Marketing Business Opportunity!

Yes, your site can rank at the top of the search engines without having to spend a ton of money on AdWords or other paid search results. If you take the time to understand what the search engines are looking for, even to the point of putting yourself in their shoes you can optimize your site to rank at the top of the organic or natural results.

Sound too good to be true? Not at all. Using the techniques outlined below a great many of the sites in the top 10 have done just that.

Step 1 - Determine your Keyword Phrases

You may have heard of keywords but have you heard of keyword phrases? Search users today are narrowing their search results by entering more than a single or couple of words to search. More and more search users are entering in search phrases that contain 3, 4 or more keywords. Yes, you should have your keywords, but what has become more important are the keyword phrases that search users are more likely to enter.

Know your keyword phrases for your product or service. Know what your visitors are going to be looking for beyond a single keyword. The purpose of this exercise to identify the visitor you are looking for, want to attract or who would want your product or service. If you are selling golf shirts then you would want to narrow the search results down in this manner:

Golf
Golf shirts
Nike golf shirts
Nike golf shirts large

If you are selling Nike golf shirts you would probably want to rank well for the last 2 keyword phrases and you wouldn't care how you ranked for the single keyword "Golf". Your site would be mixed in with millions of other sites that had nothing to do with golf shirts.

Remember who you are trying to attract. You want the visitor who is looking to buy a golf shirt. Optimizing your pages to reflect your desires will help in obtaining the results you want.

Step 2 - Use you Keyword Phrase

Each page on your site must be different and unique. Duplicate content is seen as a bad thing by search engines. However, in order to rank well your keyword phrase must meet certain criteria and be displayed in key points on the pages of your site.

The keyword phrase for the specific page you are on should be the first thing in the page title. At the very top of every page on the web there is a page title. The first thing in this page title should be your keyword.

You should also have the keyword phrase as the title for the first section in the body of the page as well as scattered throughout the text. Look for a saturation point of 2% but not more than 3%.

You should also consider having the keyword phrase in the footer of the page. This will give the accurate impression that your total page is devoted to this keyword phrase.

By carefully duplicating this technique without duplication you can create a fully optimized website for your keyword phrase.

Step 3 - Use Google Webmaster Tools to Rank Higher

Google for years has been the leader in search use. More people use their search engine than any other. The relevant results that they give along with the speed in which they display the results catapulted them to the top of the search engine heap years ago. Knowing this it just makes sense to latch onto their coattails and ride along with them.

Google has provided a set of tools for webmasters that helps them better understand your site. Through these tools Google will see your site faster, crawl the pages more often and better understand what type of visitor that you are trying to attract. Embracing these tools will enhance the speed at which your site is ranked.

Google Analytics is a free reporting tool. It contains some incredible data about your site and the visitors you are attracting.
Google Webmaster Tools. After registering and verifying your site you will be able to submit a sitemap for your site. This will help tremendously in assuring that all of your pages are seen by Google.
Google Base. If you are an E-commerce site this is an incredible tool to get your product in front of potential buyers.
Live Product Feed. This is the equivalent product feed for MSN.

Using these tools every time we launch a new site we are able to have our site recognized by Google within a matter of a few days. Using these tools we have our products listed at the top of the search results in a matter of days. Using these tools our sites are crawled on a very regular basis and have obtained top rankings for our keyword phrases in a matter of 2 -3 months.

Three Things You Must Do Before You Submit To Article Directories

To all writers and non-writers out there, now is the time to start digging up those creative writing skills. With modern communication technology comes the popularity of information-based marketing, which is one of the oldest and most effective techniques in getting targeted prospects to sites and converting them into buyers. This is

Search engine results are becoming more important every day as more people use the World Wide Web to find goods, services and information. One way to help your website achieve a decent ranking is by ensuring your site is free of bad links.

What Google Says About Links

When your website is ready: - Have other relevant sites link to yours. - Submit your website link or URL to relevant directories such as the Open Directory Project and Yahoo!, as well as to other industry-specific sites. - Make a website with a clear hierarchy and text links. Every web page should be reachable from at least one static text link. - Keep the links on a given page to a reasonable number (fewer than 100). - Check for broken links and correct HTML.

Broken Links Are Bad For Users And SEO

It is important to trade links with relevant websites. But the more sites you trade with the more difficult it becomes to detect a bad link.

Bad links happen when: - The company goes out of business or abandons its website - Domain name change - Website/ company merger - Page, pages or directory sections are deleted or no longer continued - Inexperienced Web editors or content managers make coding mistakes

Google will detect all bad links in your website. Google robots or crawlers are routinely gathering information from your website on a cyclic basis. You may experience a drop off or ranking change if your website contains bad links.

Think Of It This Way

Links are mini-direction maps. They tell the search engine robots where to find content within and outside of your website. Imagine someone giving you bad or inaccurate directions. Would you trust them? Would you come back or ask them again? Search engine robots work the same way.

Website Redesigns Can Affect Your Links

When you redesign your website it will most likely have a new link structure and new page names. For example, your home page may be given a new file name (index.asp) versus (index.html). And your interior pages might be given new naming conventions such as "suffolk-home-remodeling-team.html" versus "our-team.html."

Before the new website pages are launched, your webmaster should create redirects for all of your old or existing web pages so that clients or customers with bookmarks in their web browser "favorites" will be redirected to your new website or website interior pages. A redirect also tells the search engines where to find your new website interior pages. Webmaster should also include this information in your robots.txt file at the root directory of your website.

Link Checking

There are a few free and share-ware programs on the market that will perform a scan of your website link structure and detect and report any bad inbound or out-bound links. I prefer having someone do this for me on a daily basis. Most people simply do not have the time to do a link check every single day. I found a really inexpensive service that emails me reports when any bad links are detected. You can check them out at http://www.seventwentyfour.com/

There is also a popular software called Link Sleuth ™, a free multi-threaded link checking software that analyzes websites for broken links. It runs on Windows 95, 98, NT, 2000 and Windows XP. It requires some basic webmaster knowledge to run, but has pretty good documentation.

Solid Links = Solid Reputation

Whether you manually check your links, or use software or a link checking service, having a solid intact link structure reflects well on your website. It means you care about your visitors' online experience and your website presence.

Bad links may harm your website search engine ranking and leave your website visitors with a less than pleasurable experience.

In my discussions with other writers, most of them will write an article and then forget about it. They move on to the next one. By managing your article business in this way, you are leaving a lot of money on the table. You should take a lesson from the larger successful sites. Many large and small submission sites make money by placing ads on our articles. Xomba and Helium do it quite successfully. They are making money with articles that authors have written long ago. Unless you are a billionaire and write just for fun, why not copy successful article income techniques from the big boys?

Place twenty or thirty of your most successful articles into your website and place ads on each page. Use commercial ads from the large advertisers like those from Content Link, Kontera, Adsense, and others along with links touting your own products or your favorite affiliate items. I have inserted as many as twelve ads in one article. Make sure you include the other sources of advertising that you are currently using on your site.

Ill admit, the extra income that this technique generates will not be enough to allow you to retire. However, it could bring in an extra few hundred dollars each month, and every little bit helps. For those of you who scoff at an extra few hundred dollars each month, please feel free to send me your checks. Ill gladly accept them!

Be sure to rotate new articles in each month. In addition, you can advertise this page as a source of concentrated information in future articles. Place a number of related articles together o your website (or blog) and add a link to this page in the resource box of your articles. This provides you with a new source of article information to write about and it is sure to bring you additional traffic and revenue.

If you have attained expert status with any of the submission sites, be sure to display the expert icon prominently on your site. It will give you added credibility and increase your sales.

By taking articles that you have published previously and giving them new life on your website, you can use them to generate a recurring income. Month in and month out, each one should pay you a small dividend. Keep track of the page views each article generates and cycle out any that lag behind. Replace those laggards with fresh articles regularly to maximize your income.
