The Differences of Free vs Paid Directory Submissions

First a web directory is web site that specializes in finding, categorizing and listing links to other resources on the World Wide Web. Owners of web sites can submit their sites for review and possible inclusion. Those sites are then reviewed for relevancy and site content to determine if the site would have value to the other internet surfers.

By using a Web Directory your site can gain backlinks which are like doorways to your website for traffic to flow. They are also considered votes of quality for search engine rankings which brings additional targeted traffic through search related actions. Web Directory links create unique and topically relevant backlinks to your site.

The thing to note is that all links are not created equal. The fundamental difference in directories is free vs paid. The differences between the two are like night and day or BMW and skateboard.

Free Directory

What you get with free directories are an extremely crowded directory where your link will get lost in a crowd of low quality links, less traffic from the directory due to less visibility, much longer time between submission and acceptance, very time consuming as you typically need to submit to hundreds of these to get the value of one link from a quality paid directory and your listing will typically get placed with listings for low quality spam filled sites.

Let's just face facts, most people start a business to generate revenue and a directory is a business. With directories that allow for free submissions the owners look to generate revenue from the site in other ways and those other ways will decrease the quality of the directory.

One way they generate revenue on free directories is by installing adsense on it. Those adsense advertisements compete with the listings on the directory for the visitor traffic and decrease the value of a link in the directory.

The other common way to generate revenue for a free directory is to sell advertising space on it. The idea being to use the lure of a low quality free link on the directory to draw traffic in to see the paid advertisements like site wide sponsored links, site featured links, site wide footer links, site wide partner links and they can call them other things also. Such as our network, friends and the list goes on.

The fact is that search engines devalue web sites that sell placement of site wide links on them and that severely limits the value of a listing on those directories.

Pay for Review Directory

Some of the things which a pay for review directory will bring you and that you should look for are a directory that is maintained by professionals, rich in content with articles and quality resources/listings, unique design with additional features such as deep linking options, quick review times usually 24 to 48 hours and a directory that is focused on providing a destination resource for visitors which generates traffic.

The focus to be a destination resource is easily spotted by features and content. Does the directory provide something in addition to a place to submit links? Is there a blog with content in it? Are there articles posted within the directory category structure? Are there other features that are just there for visitor's enjoyment such as an art gallery?

In addition there should not be any site wide links for sponsors, there should not be distracting/traffic bleeding adsense. A link from a quality paid directory has more value than free links. They are seen as a higher quality endorsement of the sites listed there. It is our hope that this will help you identify a directory that is worth submitting to from one that is not.

Article Marketing - Should Be Reader Friendly

Article marketing is an excellent method of increasing traffic to your site. There are a lot of writers out there who are talented and can write articles for your site. With a large pool of potential employees who usually work free-lance, this is a marketing campaign that a site can undertake with little financial risk. You hire a person to develop creative content that will draw online surfers to your site. This small investment is an opportunity to increase site traffic as well as your search engine rating.

Article marketing, is placing your articles in online article directories for everyone to read. These articles usually will have a link to your own website at the bottom, with a photo and a short biodata about you. If someone reads your article and clicks on the backlink, your website gets traffic. Your article has to be impressive enough to induce the visitor to click on the backlink.

You can be successful if you remember a few things. You have to compose copy that reflects your readers' concerns. Perhaps you can inform your audience about a previously unpublicized service or give them pointers on how to do something for themselves. You want to create one-of-a-kind articles to get their attention, and unique content is what accomplishes that.

Use words that are easy for your readers to comprehend. Avoid flowery phrases that may tax the ordinary person's vocabulary. Avoid complicated concepts as well. Define any words you think will stump your audience. You can render copy more readable if you use boldfaced headings and bullets in front of the items on your lists. You want to offer your audience useful information and communicate to them that you have expertise pertinent to the topic.

As soon as your copy is prepared for publication, put it on a popular article directory. This is a kind of site that solicits columns from authors of all nations throughout the globe. It provides room for your contact information and for a backlink. It is crucial to post your copy on more than one directory at a time in order to raise your internet profile and generate more visitors to your site.

Article marketing can periodically fail to generate the funds it promises. A poorly written article will not attract viewers. The writer must possess rudimentary literary skills. The abrupt disappearance of the writer from the internet may also contribute to lack of income. Article writers must consistently provide new articles with fresh ideas. For a productive and gifted writer, article marketing is a great way to make a living.

In today's technologically driven world there are many ways to earn money through Internet and article writing is one of them. Many article writers are happy writing content for websites. If you engage yourself in article marketing, then your article will pay you as long as it is present on the site. Write something your reader is interested in. Your subject matter can be about a little-known but useful service or a self-help guide, a how-to article or handy hints about something. If your unique articles contain stimulating information, their unique content is sure to arouse your reader's interest. Write in a reader-friendly language and style.

"Marketing Multi Level" - If You Don't Read This, FORGET IT!

Okay, Okay...The heading "Marketing Multi Level"..If You Don;t Read This..Forget It.. was just a little bit dramatic....I will admit that but I needed to get your attention because to me marketing is the big missing link from the three keys to success in multi level marketing.

Just to quickly review I have already discussed in other articles the other two key areas required...

1. Personal Development

2. System Duplication

But now......however...marketing is necessary and not just any type of marketing. It's marketing about you! That's right..You!! It's not about marketing the products or services. It's not about marketing your leaders or your system. No...great "marketing multi level" style is to get people attracted to YOU first. Did I say you? Yep!

That system of "marketing multi level" is called Attraction Marketing. And it's powerful because it's all about the person only you control...YOU! And there is no one else like you. The other great thing about attraction marketing is that people stick with people...in other words they will be less unlikely to switch companies after they follow you to the company in the first place.

Now that we understand the strategy... the next step is to determine "HOW?." Well that includes creating a brand for you as being an expert in the industry. Whether you are an expert or not ..isn't the issue. The issue is whether or not people perceive you as the expert. Perception is reality. And here's the real neat trick...if you aren't an expert...borrow someone else's expertise. In other words...convince your prospects because you are associated with an industry expert in some regard, then you have the perceived expertise you need..

That's "marketing multi level" style. That's success!

Here's to you!

Viral Marketing - 3 Reasons Your Free Report Hasn't Gone Viral

For those of you unfamiliar with viral marketing, the concept is simple. Produce something that can be passed easily from one person to another and then encourage them to do so. This can be a free report, audio, video or anything else that can be passed along easily. If all goes well, people start passing your message around. He tells two friends, she tells two friends, they tell two friends kind of thing. As you can see, if your virus catches on, you'll be able to get your message in front of exponentially more people than you could ever do by yourself.

To keep things simple, I'm going to focus on viral reports as the medium of the virus. They have been around for a long time, and are the easiest to develop. But just because they've been around a while, doesn't mean everyone knows how to create a free report that gets spread around like a virus. Later in this article I'm going to go over 3 big reasons free reports fail to become viral.

But first...

I want to make sure you understand WHY viral marketing is so powerful. It might not be immediately understood why getting your message spread around like a virus is so important. In simple terms, it is because it can bring more traffic to your website, can get more people to subscribe to your email list and produce more sales for your products or affiliate recommendations.

So, this is big: don't produce a report that you want to go viral without a link back to your website, a link to promote your list and links to your products or affiliate recommendations. I know this might be obvious, but if you do get a report to go viral, you want to make sure it works to improve your business. The last thing you want si to get a report spreading all over the web that doesn't do anything to bring more traffic, get more subscribers or put more money in your pocket.

And while I'm talking of the obvious... make sure you let them know they can pass it along! You don't want them wondering if it's alright to pass it along. You want them to act.

OK, what are the 3 biggest reasons reports don't go viral?

Reason 1: Wrong Topic. In order for a report to be spread around, it must be something MANY people want to know about. Forget about "niches" for viral reports. You want a BIG, HUNGRY market looking for information. The topic must apply to a lot of people... or else why would someone send it along to their friends?

Once you have your HOT topic in a big market, make sure the title grabs the attention of the market. You need to immediately convey this is something they MUST read.

Reason 2: Poor Quality. Ok, you got your hot topic and get people to download and read your report. The information inside MUST be of high-quality. Yes, this is a free report and shouldn't be expected to give away everything, but it still must be of value all by itself. If it isn't, why would anyone want to pass it along?

So, make sure your free report is "valuable" as a stand-alone report.

Reason 3: No Backup. Even if you create a high-quality report on a HOT topic in a crowded, hungry market... it doesn't mean the report will go viral. Why? Simply, because people are lazy and need a GOOD REASON to take the time to send the report along.

One of the best reasons I can think of to get people to pass along your report is to let them brand the report with their affiliate links. Then they'll pass the report along because the more exposure the report gets, the more likely they are to make money.

But if you really want to get the report spreading like a virus, you should go one step further and provide guidance and resources to help people promote the report. Don't just say, "Send out an email". Give them a email they can cut-and-paste. Give them report graphics. Give them articles. Give them everything they need to make spreading the report as easy and as profitable as possible.

Then you'll have a highly successful viral marketing campaign that spreads quickly.
